We bring our own cleaning products and equipment.

The HandiMaids story
In 1983, Helen Swinter, a housewife in Glen Allen, VA wanted to earn extra income to pay for her son's college tuition. Helen had the admiration of her peers for her attention to detail and her knack for caring for her home. Using her talents, she started a detailed, residential cleaning service. Helen's devotion to perfection became so in demand, that within the first year, she found herself expanding her kitchen-table company to one of Richmond's first Cleaning Services, Hand-I-Maids, Inc. Shortly after opening their first office, Helen's husband Bruce, joined the company and together with their hard-working team, they cared for clients all over the Richmond Area. Now, after 30 years of hard work, Helen is taking a well deserved retirement while son, Michael, a former police officer & his wife Hope, a former business & marketing professional are delighted to take the company to new heights and standards with the help of their top-notch management team. Hand-I-Maids is proud to work with a professional team of cleaners; each one bringing their own unique talents & contributions to our company & our cherished clients.
