The Hand-I-Maids Story
The Hand-I-Maids story starts in Richmond, Virginia in 1983. Helen Swinter, a suburban house wife, wanted to earn extra income to pay for her son's college tuition. Helen had the admiration of her peers for her attention to detail and her nack for caring for her home; so using her talents, she started a detailed, residential cleaning service.
Now, after 25 years of hard work, Helen is taking a well deserved retirement while son, Michael, a former police officer, is delighted to take the company to new heights and standards.
Michael and his family look forward to the next 25 years of offering a superior cleaning to Richmond Area families while upholding the standards and traditions of this local, family-owned treasure.
Helen's devotion to perfection became so in demand, that within the first year, she found herself expanding her kitchen-table company to one of Richmond's first Cleaning Services, Hand-I-Maids, Inc. Shortly after opening their first office, Helen's husband Bruce, joined the company and together with their hard-working team, they cared for clients all over the Richmond Area.
